Topic 1: Getting Started with Arduino and IoT Applications
Date:2020/7/21
Time: 17:00-18:30 Taipei Time
Objective: Introduce students to the internet of things and connected devices. This course will provide students with some basic skills in the Arduino programming language and an understanding of its application.
Description: Pollution is a growing problem in the world, especially PM 2.5 related air pollution. We will look at how air pollution is measured and the purpose and features of an Air Quality Monitor. The mechanics of the AQM and technical details are introduced.
Topic 2: Ignite Curiosity on Nature Exploration by using IoT
Date:2020/7/23
Time: 17:00-18:30 Taipei Time
Objective: This course will build on students’ understanding of IoT by expanding on the relevance to nature and the environment. Curiosity is stimulated by further exploring the application of IoT to environmental challenges.
Description: We study the implementation of the IoT AQM. Cloud services are briefly introduced. We look at how to evaluate the data collected from our device and also how to use Arduino to interface the device with the cloud correctly. Further capacity and feaures of IoT are also addressed to situate the lesson within the wholistic context of IoT devices more broadly.
